Subject: The Lion of Judah Roared Friday Night.


Dear Friends:


As most of you know, the police came and tried to shut us down last Thursday night. We had been holding tent meetings in Sherwood, Oregon for the last month. We had all the permits the city could issue, and they still tried to stop the meetings. I sent out a request for prayer Thursday night. Well, I want to tell you I have never seen such a response in my whole life. It seemed like the whole world was praying, and boy did it work.

ISAIAH 42:13 The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.

The Lord roared from heaven and pushed back the enemy. He stirred up His jealousy like a man of war for His bride when she sang out last week to Him. Oh, what a mighty God we serve.

I want to thank you for all you prayers and support for the meeting last Friday. I have 466 e-mails in my in box right now. What a blessing and an encouragement you have been. When the police showed up Thursday to shut us down, I knew the Lord was in it. Calls came from all over the world to help. From Australia, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Uganda, England, Ireland, Japan and all over the Orient. Calls came from almost every state in the United States. A Senator called city hall. National magazines called to find out what was going on. National TV networks called to see if they were going to do it again. Churches and national ministries called to lend their support. Lawyers called to offer their support. I had never seen such favor of God. I want to thank you all for having the heart to pray. It really worked.

People stayed and prayed all day. People drove for hundreds of miles just to be at the last meeting. And what a service we had. Even though the police showed up again. Even though they stood around the tent. Even though people said they were pulled over by the police on the way to the meetings. The power of the Lord was present to heal, save and deliver. Jean Darnall flew in from Hawaii and preached with me on the wonderful move of God of the last few years. As we gave the altar call, so many came for prayer- who could count! We felt the love and wonderment of Jesus and the body of Christ.

I want to thank all of you who drove so far to support us. I cried when I saw your faces. The love and loyalty you showed Jesus last Friday overwhelmed me. You came from California, Washington, Idaho and Oregon. You came from over 45 different churches. You came from Assembly of God churches, Foursquare churches, Vineyard churches, Baptist churches, Mennonite churches, Community churches, Lutheran churches, Methodist churches, Presbyterian churches, Catholic churches, Covenant churches, Dutch Reformed churches and Episcopal churches. You came from all over to stand up for Jesus and to help a friend. I do not have words to thank all of you. Again, from your friend ,please, believe me, Jan & I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. There was standing-room-only Thursday and Friday. It was so clear how hungry the people are in the Pacific Northwest for revival. Again, I just want to thank you. I love each and every one of you.

The devil backed off when he saw the army of God Friday night. It reminded me of Judges 7:20 when Gideon's army blew the trumpets and the enemy ran in fear. That is what happened Friday night. The Lord blew the trumpet in Zion and the enemy fled. The Police Chief basically apologized to Pastor Jeff by saying the sergeant had no authority to close us down.

I just want to encourage you to keep the meetings in Sherwood going. Every day my 8 year old gets up and says, can we go the meeting tonight? She was touched when you prayed for her. I just wanted to personally thank you for how your meetings have impacted my life. I already mentioned the things the Lord showed me concerning repenting for having "exposed my children's sins, (the Noah story), but along with the transformation this brought, and open communication with my son for the first time in probably 20 years, what you didn't know was that this meeting made me feel like Anna at the temple. To Jerry and leaders at New Life Assembly of God, Although we cannot come to the meetings, we will be praying for you. When there is opposition you are a threat to the enemy's strongholds. He would not bother if you were not being effective.

Brother Jerry, I would love to come, but I am so far I would not reach you in time; but our prayers have no boundaries of time or space. Therefore, I agree with you right now in prayer, the meetings are going and I asked for a supernatural cover over Jerry, his family, the ministry team, the sponsoring church and their families. Messages are really powerful. I wish I was out there with you all but I live in Mass. I haven't been plugged into a church since we moved to a new house last July and I miss it madly. My mother died of lung cancer just 8 weeks ago and I am very lost. Your e-mails have touched me and set the fire for the Lord in me again. I will pray for your meetings. Even here on the "dry" East Coast (Va.) we are praying for these meetings. It is God who has placed the police as HIS SERVANTS! ...I have been praying that those fine officers will only have their ears tuned in to God, rather than satan's cohorts! Penn's God-given vision for religious tolerance has never been revoked. I like a good fight too, and God has said He has given me some authority to bind and loose and since we're three hours behind you in time, I figure there's some time to do some damage to the enemy's scheme of things!
